Canada has similarly relaxed gun laws to the USA but hardly any of the gun related crime. The problem is rooted deep in the American psyche.
At this stage it would most likely be physically impossible to remove the millions upon millions of guns in circulation in the US, but the fact that most of these lone crazy on the rampage massacres are committed by people with legally purchased and held weapons is something that seriously needs to be addressed.
No doubt there should be some control and/or requirements of potential gun owners, however; the 2nd Ammendment rights will not be allowed to disappear. What needs to happen in America is to get back to common sense. Teach young people to respect life, love life and not to threaten it unless defense is necessary. Good old moral values needs to be reinstituted, supported, taught and followed by Americans to curve guns or any other weapons control.

If the question is survival, they are fine tools.

Is it time to learn the Second Amendment?

Stop with the 2nd Amendment. You are taking it way out of context. You do understand the intent of the 2nd Amendment right? You do know it was written to enable you to take up arms and defend the country right? You know that?

It was NOT written to give you the right to own whatever weapons you want. Particularly it was not written so that you can use it to kill OTHER AMERICANS. Read it again.

The thing I most like about Britain is knowing that it's highly unlikely my neighbour has an arsenal for 'self defence'. He might have a rolling pin but if he went bonkers with that it wouldn't be a serious problem.
I'm not surprised you aren't married. It could always go bad for you at work then you would start sleeping with your guns, if you don't already, and turn up one morning for your 'revenge'.
Illegal does not mean unavailable.

That person who you stated would going bonkers may not choose to use a rolling pin but instead, may have actively sought out to acquire a firearm. Or that person may already be in possession of a firearm that he/she acquired illegally in that illegal does not mean unavailable. Perhaps, you wish to defend yourself with a rolling pin but some of us prefer to defend ourselves/loved ones, and even someone like you should it come to that, with deadly force if it should come to that when a person going bonkers is with a firearm.

How many years have we been hearing those BS lines? How’s that working out? Are things better or worse? At what point will you admit you're FAILING and change the way things are done?

The least that need happen is a discussion about limiting how easily crazy (law abiding) Americans are buying guns, and using them to MASSACRE innocent people. Perhaps when someone you love is murdered, you’ll wake up.

By not addressing my post you simply prove just how unfamiliar you are with the 2nd Amendment and its purpose. You should read more.

In that you state that those lines are failing and that making something illegal doesn't mean that it will not be available, by passing legislation that will do no less than disarm people, how do you suppose that a law abiding person who does value/possess a value system that some don't, protect themselves against those who is out to massacre innocent and defenseless people? In that the Police aren't mind readers who will be there when someone acts out violently/response time is minutes away, who is there to stop that person going off? No one. If you believe that a person seeking to massacre innocent people will extend benevolence and just cease with the massacre on their own, you better guess again. For the most part those who go on rampages are looking to take out as many people with them. What saved those people in Aurora was that the shooters gun jammed. And word has it that he was planning on offing himself. Fortunately, rampages are reasonably rare but by all means disarm people and the next time and the next, we'll see more innocent and defenseless men, women and children being set up like sitting ducks to be slaughtered in that the shooter will know that there will be no one to stop them. Perhaps, you can be the person to notify the victim's loved ones re their loss because on principle some POS with no regard for human life wasn't met with force to stop them in their tracks.

No they are not. They are happening more and more often. Wake up and realize the world you live in, not the world you’d “like” to live in.

Reality awaits you….

Any crime and every crime that exist in this country whites will blame blacks and hispanics. I've never seen whites take responsibility for the crimes that they commit.
What are you talking about..........

If whites committed the crimes blacks do..........

The suburbs would look like the hood..........

And you and I know they don't..........

White people hate criminals..........You won't find a thread like the hundreds I could find made by blacks making excusses or supporting black criminal behavior

NO SNITCHIN......that says it all about what blacks think of crime.......FUHK DA Police..........then bytch when the hood gets shot up......silly black men

Ship black men that carry illegal guns to the country of their choice..........

Make the hood safe again..........just cause you are poor doesn't mean you have to be a criminal

We hear argument after argument that to stop the violence associated with drugs is to legalize drugs. Yet, on the other hand, we hear the argument that to stop gun violence is to ban guns. As in the case of drugs, by banning guns an entirely new set of problems will be created and just as is the case with drugs. Drugs are still illegal, harsh prison sentences are handed down for those who deal in drugs and yet, why are drugs flooding this country/being abused? Making something illegal does not make them unavailable and often, it creates a black market for something as would be the case with firearms just as it is with drugs.

I had to laugh at the blacks today.....

They were outside complaining that they had to give $30 to go to their own picnic given by the Union..........

I told them that if their Union hadn't given Obama $75,000,000 that they could have gone for free.........

They didn't believe me....I just laugh

Can you imagine paying Union dues.....they give your money away....and charge you for your own picnic..........

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Virgo

It's a rather low-key day with a few disappointments to cope with along the way. If you were looking forward to a social event, such as meeting up with friends, it may fail to live up to your expectations. It might even be delayed or postponed through no fault of your own. There could also be problems about how much something is going to cost, forcing you to scale down your plans to make them more affordable.
