There was a cute little Ethiop I was keeping my eye on before I left town two years ago. She was dating an Ethiopian guy and was quite open about wanting to get rid of the loser. The subtext was once she did, it would be green lights for me all the way.
So, as you can expect when I got back the 7-11 was one of my first stops. Imagine my shock and dismay when I walk in with my arms outstretched for a warm hung but instead of a hug she whips out a photo of her and a white boy getting married.
I was so mad I almost smacked that wedding photo out of her hand.
And the really bad thing is, this wasn't the first time a white boy had beat me to the punch with Ethiop girl. It had happened twice before.
Iman was the first to marry a white guy, but can you blame her?
When she first came over she was the hottest thing in the modeling world. Then she made the one mistake of her life. She married a 6'9" pro-basketball crack head named Spencer Haywood who dogged the hell out of her for the next 10 years.
It took her years to five years to get over that nightmare during which time it is said she was screwing everything in Hollywood that wasn't tied down.
Still, when she finally got her bearings she still had it going on, so much so aging rock star David Bowie, a man way past his prime but a millionaire at least 50 times over, snapped her up.
They've been going strong ever since, even have a little daughter.
Point being, today Ethiopian and Somalian girls won't touch a brother with a 10 foot pole -- they're all holding out for white boys.
Smart girls.

I think the way we are raised doesn't stress assertiveness and a lot of us feel lost and confused hence the singleness.
