Alicia Keys Racist? Feeds 'Government Hates Blacks' Conspiracies

Alicia Keys made a very ignorant and conceited comment on the 2008 BET awards. Alicia Keys said, "Black is beautiful, everybody wants to be like us". What in the world does she think she is? What in the world does she mean by "everybody wants to be like us" In what sense though??????
Race, color, talent, What!!!!
All races; White, Latino, Asian, Indian, etc. I am sure are all proud of who they are and their cultures.
Keys, needs to wake up and smell the coffe and look around her fellow celebreties all over the U.S. and the world and she will be stunned with the talents she would find.
A good example of great talent so she can get a little taste are: Fergie (raps and sings different genres), Shakira (sings,dances and of course sings in two languages), Selena (sang in 2 languages)the list goes on and on.....
If she means soulful voices, the previously mentioned got it, but if she wants a closer example then she wouldn't fill Mary J. Blidge's shoes nor Tony Braxtons and most recently; Keisha Cole.

ms.keyes is not a racist.she loves her mother and mentions her mother whenever she gives an interview.i feel that she is just more comfortable around blacks,and is more in touch with her "black side".she was raised around all kinds of people growing up,as her mom lived in a racially mixed neighborhood.maybe most of her friends were black....who knows.point is,she was just stating the facts.the reason why she made such a point to mention all the beautiful black people was to get a sense of love and unity among blacks,seeing how this is our time.outside those doors where the awards were held,lay the mean streets of reality.she was just basking in the peace,love,and togetherness of that special night.that's all.no need to take offense. ms.keyes loves her white side and her black side.there's no need to get ugly.

"non-blacks" aren't the only ones out there "hating".

I love people who will not admit her statements were inappropriate. It is such a double standard if she (or someone who was completely white) said during the grammies about how white is beautiful and everyone wants to be like us there would have been an uproar. To the black posters can you please think how you would feel if the situation was reversed? I'm am so sick of everyone who is not white getting a pass, if we want equality lets have it.

Well, I said she isnt racist.She should have chosen her words more carefull because if it was reversed, I have no problem admitting there would be an uproar.
Now, your other statements were NOT correct. Enough with the backpatting, lol.There are many contrubutions such as:

establishment of blood plasma bags and blood banks around the world
automatica gear shift
refrigerators
elevators
cellular phones
clothes dryer
potato chips
many uses for peanuts(not just peanut butter), many uses for the sweet potato and pecans
traffic lights
fire escapes
fire estinguisher

mailboxes

Well other races of people do imitate black's culture. Not just hip hop, it goes way back. Even today you see way more white kids into hip hop then rock or anything else. Its not racist to say whites and others want and try to be like blacks, its a fact particularly for the youth. If keys indentifies herself as being black, it makes me like her more verses biracials wanting to be white.

I understand where she is coming from because most pop singers try to imitate rhythm and blues singers,jazz singers and blues singers. Alot of these pop singers are white. Maybe Keys was suggesting musically, other races and ethinicities try to imitate black culture?
