But once they have made that transition and in many ways,is leading a white-collar lifestyle, will you still be attracted to them.
Of course! I really feel that when a man is trying to be a self proclaimed "thug" or a "gangsta" is very childish and most likely have a unrealistic view of life and that quite frankly is UNATTRACTIVE. Yes, is the answer.

Yeah. I was being honest with her and myself about whether or not the difference would be tolerable

General question; Is the only way you all see black men is as playas and thugs and gangstas? If you people let watching too much television dictate the kind of people we are, you have set us back a FEW decades...

A more appropriate way for Tippi to explain her point would be to say that is her reality of the situation. Not THE reality. This is what she knows and only what she knows. It is not a proven fact. So, Tippi, if you prefer white men just say you prefer white men. There's no need to justify your preference just because YOU havent met any good black men. Because to say there are more bad then good black men is just plain riduculous.

My true as I know it. Now was your ex-wife's mother white or was it the father that was white? I will tell why I asked after you told me.
Her mother was white but the parents were married for some years but divorced later. Now if you tell me that because her mother was white, she would be more relunctant to identify with the black side, that would be complete nonsense. So spare me.

The real truth...Your truth.. Just like your kids that are fatherless by your own admision, nearly half of all black children are fatherless. That is what truth is.. That is why so many black women end up rasing the kids alone.
I glad Diamond pointed out that he didnt mention having kids. This is a good example of people assuming things are a certain way instead of what they actually are. We all need to pay more attention and not be dupped by our assumptions.

No wonder she was confused. A child's first and most important influence in their life is their mother's and white women can not teach or relate the experience of what it is like to be black. Only black moms can do that. Your ex was also inconflict because wanted to (just like Halle Berry has confessed) that she wanted to identify completely with her white mother but couldn't because she saw a black girl in the mirror.

Now you can accept this or not and keep you painting the picture of how you want it to be.

I do have a preference for white men but there are many sisters who love black men but are begining to look at other races of men because they can't find good black men.

What a pitty. They should look because they are attracted. If you have a negative opinion of something its hard to be objective. Even if a good black man is standing right in front of you, you'll never see him because of your assumptions.

I keep hearing other black women complain about not being able to find a good working, responsible black man yet I hear other people like yourself saying that their are plenty of them but black women are really only looking for the black bad boys, yet these same black women will go to white men because they seem more stable and financially secure.
So which is it? Do black women want the bad boys or the secure men?
Great question! I think alot of black men are fooling themselves into believeing that black women want thugs and non-working men over the "suits". I am a young professional black woman that would love to have nothing other than a financially secure man over a three time felon any day. I've never considered dating interracially in the past, but men from different races are really appealing to me now. I am just now realizing that we (black women) do not have to sit back and wait for our black stallion to come pick us up.
If a white man can handle me sexually, financially and emotionally then he'll be the one I marry!

Here's a little info that you may not know about Black women. Black women didn't necassarily think all white men were unattractive, because look at Brad Pitt...mmmh, but anyways, we just wanted to be with Black men. It was more taboo in Black women to date white men than Black men dating white women, also Black women are starting to realize that alot of Black men don't appreciate or respect us, aren't trying to make something of themselves, or are getting locked up. We're simply trying to broaden our horizons, but I think we had different motives of wanting to date outside of our race than Black men did. So, that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

I also believe the "Black women only want thugs and players" opinion is a lie but is used as an excuse by unmotivated some black men who are too lazy to improve their lives and also used by some of the more successful black men as an excuse to get with white women.

I am glad to hear more sisters are broadening their options in finding good man period by dating interracially and not wasting their time waiting and hoping for Mr. Black Right to come along or settling for any old brother the cat has dragged in.

As far as sex goes, since I started dating white men, my sex life couldn't better! Remember white men are the original freaks under the sheets.

I am white and my daughter is about to have her 2nd child by her black boyfriend. She says her boyfriend and his brother won't date black women because they have too much attitude. What does that mean? The thing that bothers me is that these two brothers have both now had two illigitimate babies born by white women. Doesn't anyone get married anymore? The brother of my daughters boyfriend is in and out of jail so he is not even supporting his kids. Doing the right thing isn't a racial issue, it's just doing the right thing!

Stick to your guns "Diamond" , there is a real man out there who doesn't suffer from insecurity, and complacency who will be able to bring your full potential to life. Keep thinking out side of the box and you will find yourself set in fine gold where a diamond should be.

I got it, most black men look for women of any race that they can have sex with without committment?

Do a little lateral thinking today and it will work wonders. Don't feel hidebound because you're supposed to do things in a certain way, because this is a great opportunity to try a different approach for a change. Even so, you may have to play down your unorthodox technique when talking to anyone who sticks rigidly to convention.
