I cut my hair low back in September of last year. It has grown back since then and it's a nice length, I wear twist outs and it looks really pretty and exotic at the same time, but now it's like black men don't even look my way. I have a pretty face, but is my hair a problem? I love the natural look. What do you guys think?

I know you're asking for a man's opinion, but I wanted to respond. I know men that like natural hair, and most of them are pretty afro centric and wear locs and twists themselves. HOWEVER, I find the majority of men prefer relaxed long hair. Many people are brainwashed into thinking that our natural hair is not good enough without chemicals. Are you considering changing your hair? If so and you like the natural look, keep what you have and don't change it for anyone. If anything, you can always press it for a relaxed look. I think natural hair is pretty and so much more healthy and versatile.

dont want to hurt u, but i read the other thread of u too. i dont know... in my mind it sounds a little bit strange, if sombebody tells everybody:

"my booty is looking soooo good, but i dont want men to look over my personality cos my good-looking booty."

"my face is looking soooo good, but i dont know, what men thinking about my hair."

whats ure problem? dont get enough attention? if u look so good as u saying, men will pay attention, dont worry.

I am with GES, I know quite a few men who like the natrual look. When I was in Oakinawa it was so hot I cut my hair so low you could see my scalp. I loved it short, alot of ppl gave me my props and said they loved it as well. I love all kinds of hairstyles to include wigs, weave, curly hair, straight hair.

Well the basic standard is full juciey lips small wais big booty and a tites and long legs so it's like this you have white girlz getin botak for black womens lips and black women straighting their hair to be straight up every one goes out of their way to get somethin they dont got so it aint dat big as long as u not getin surgery or lighting ur skin or what ever its kool.some sistaz prefer baldyz to afroz should all blackmen say IM A REAL BROTHA IMA LET IT GROW OUT no if our ladies say i like you in cornrows we wait till it grows and go out like allen iverson lol. It's all about pleasing ur better half equalley.

I like all hair styles on a woman if her hair is long and neat. The only thing two things i don't like are dreads and those smaller braids. other than that, i say go for it.

I definitely understand where you are coming from. Some guys act like long, straight (or curly) hair on a woman is one of God's greatest gifts to man. However, you've got to be yourself and do what works best for you. If you can look in the mirror and truly love the hair on your head, you are WAY ahead of a whole lot of folks. I say wear your twists with pride and don't let any perceived negativity faze you :-)

Libra22, men do have their preferences. I don't even think about a style that's hard or has to be held in place by spritz because I know my husband doesn't like it. As much as I'd like to say don't change to please other people - the truth of the matter is: We all do things to look good for the opposite sex. That's life. If, in your opinion, the hairstyle is hindering your social life, you may want to consider a change. You could be happy with your hair and lonely OR have a man and be unhappy with a relaxed do - 6 in one hand, 1/2 a dozen in the other.

Can't snuggle up with the twist outs! LOL

I have natural afro hair, I've been natural since 2002 and have never looked back. My hair is past my shoulders when I hot comb it, and it looks so shiny, super straight, and has a lot of movement. I only hot comb it on special occassions.
My fro is chemically colored but that's just me, I like color and it brings out my skin tone. Its a mixture of honey blond blended copper red. Black hair makes me look washed out. When I braid my hair I choose the exact same colours as my hair and it looks hot.
You should try out more styles, you hair is natural so it is very versatile. Actually let me ask you, is your natural hair thick or thin? Mines very thick, I have a lot of hair on my haid, when I go to get it braided my girl growns hahahaa she's like "damn girl your hair always takes 2x longer".
Anyways, try the ghana braids, kinky twists, crazy canerow designs, or just wear it out in a simple throw with a nice head band on. There are mores styles out there but the ones I listed are my favourites :o)

As for men, I've never had a problem attracting me with my hair natural. I don't need to attract them because I'm taken but that hasn't stopped men telling me how they love my hair.
Most men do prefer girls with the long relaxed hair BUT if you work your fro properly with some bad a** styles you will get just as many men as the girls with relaxed hair.
Embrace your natural tresses sistah :o)

Your hair color sounds beautiful. I think that honey blond/copper combinations look really nice on a lot of people, but many assume that black is the only color that would look nice on them so they don't give others a shot.

Thanks :o) I've been trying to upload a picture today but it won't work, I can't be bothered anymore :o(
Right now my hair is in ghana braids.
Oh my gosh when I colored my hair for the first time I went crazy, I absolutley loved it, I have never been able to achieve the exact same colour again :o' LOL bummer but when I get the color touched up it still looks good. I'd say to anybody who is natural and wants to color their hair, GO FOR IT. Just makes sure your hair is in good condition and that you pick a color that will suit your skin tone.
My man thought I was crazy to color my hair incase it got damaged but he was proven wrong and he loves it, he likes the fact that my hair is natural. When I hot comb it he can't keep his hands off me or my hair, he goes ga ga hahahaaa. He's banned me from ever relaxing my hair. I change my hairstyles every month, people that know me can't keep up with me.
I think us natural sistas need to stop worrying about what other people think. Natural hair versatile and beautiful if taken care of properly and done it great styles.

Your making me want to keep my natural hair now; I have being growing my hair natural for the past two years , i keep it in braids most of the times because i do not know how to style it; i really do not want to perm it because every time I put any chemical in my hair it breaks; but this year i got so frustrated that and I am so tempted to perm it, but you make natural hair sound sexy I think my just rock it this year, I may even try some color.
