yeah, but i noticed that when i had to unplug the computer for something and when it got plugged back in and i went on here, my IP read as "united states" again...it took a few postings in order for it to return to texas (which is funny because i don't live in texas)!

on biracial individuals: i love them. having 2 biracial nephews and a biracial niece (black/middle eastern), i have no other feeling but love. but of course, like anything else, it depends on the person...

generally speaking, i do think that the "biracial" issue is a bit overblown. everybody gets a hard time about something when they're growing up. african americans still suffer to a large degree from "colorism", so dark-skinned, broader featured people get discriminated against intraracially, while many of us tend to exalt our lighter-hued brethren to goddess and godlike status. we are curious about any black person who doesn't fit the 'classically' black phenotype standard...so that black folks with 'different' features are assumed to be biracial even when strictly speaking they are not. i think that a lot of the issue has to do with the environment you're raised in. well-adjusted people tend to raise well-adjusted children, regardless of their ethnic mixture. the stereotype of the tragic mulatto doesn't necessarily have to come with the deal.

it depends on what internet service provider you use. Some give you a static IP and it never changes, others hop around depending on how you are set up.

Ok, the first question before any discusion on this subject should be ..What is Black?

Yes, I am Black
my great grandmother was half indian, and my great grandfather was half white.

All of my family is light skin with long black hair that some my call "Good".

but I am black!

Black is not having all African roots.
But Black is having any percentage of african blood.

Black is a word that the white man made up. This traces back to slavery. If any man has 1% black blood he/she is black.
Why do you think so many black people are so light skin? So, if you are mixed with black you are black, no questions asked! If you think at all that you can experience the white culture your wrong! Ok, I know there nice to you, but they do that becouse they dont want to make you feel bad. In there eyes your not equal even if they smile in your face!!
You do get better treatment when you look more like them, becouse that makes them feel comfortable. By the way if you didn't know white people are very scared of black people.

I understand why it is so hard for you to except the fact that you are Black.
becouse black is seen as negative and people look and treat us different. The road is much harder and you have to fight the struggle to get to the top of any thing. I guess it makes you feel better to know that your half of the dominate race, it might even boost your self-esteem but at the end of the day you must face reality..... your Black!

I think the only reason there has been so much so called identity crisis is because after all these years America still makes you pick between white and Black there is no Bi/racial, mullatto,or whatever other category that there should be for a mixed person & I really hate having the OTHER category like we are sub humans or something without a title. for the ones who look dam near white are they supposed to forsake their black roots? for the ones who favor more looking black are they supposed to forsake their white heritage? and so on and so forth depending on what you are mixed with. As a mixed person myself with a white mother & black father, with multi cultural relatives including Asians, I think it is sad to have to choose, we are beautiful people that experience more than one culture and we should not have to choose WHAT COLOR that we want to be.
That is the only reason for any type of identity crisis We dont technically fit into society we are still considered muts or half breeds by the government not fit to have our own race. I personally identify more with my black heritage but I totally feel like just what I am a mixed person! most people think I am puerto rican or hispanic of some sort and they always ask me what I am? I say I am bi-racial with white and black, but I still wish we had an official name!

You have it wrong Mena, deception has and had nothing to do with it, The deception was on the people who pretended to be men when they were women and vice versa, pretending to be black when they were not, trying to fool people was their deception, Rootman is a nom de voyage, simply to combat the people who are intent on disrupting the forum. Some you may know right now and some you dont know. And of course it could not be a deception when at least 5 people knew who it was each time it posted.

Than half the battle is already over for you Edo, the rest is easy, teach your child all you can about Bosnia the good the bad, Your woman will teach the child the same hell dont let your language and culture fade away its your right to keep that alive in them, whether they move closer to AA or Bosnian side its still apart of them. I would feel I was not complete to be of Hatian decent and couldn't speak my own language even if only I do mostly with family and a few people where I work, this world is getting smaller your kids can speak and learn other languages I'm sure you know its beneficial these days to speak more than english, pass it on to your kids mine are speaking french and spanish, and of course english, to honor both cultures my wife and I have.
Exactly! I think it's a beautifull thing for kids that have some color to them to speak lanquages that nobody expects them to. It just makes it so much harder for racist mo/fos to classify people. My fiancee can't wait for the confusion she will create when she Ms. Smajlagic is called and a dark skinned black woman answers. Do you know what i'm talking about? I can't wait to f..k with the hipocrites. for examle: My best friend is with a black woman who has a child. Even though the child is 100% black, he speaks bosnian 90% of the time. Can you imagine the confusion? I love it!

"SLAVE OWNER" mentality somewhere else!

I have a white mother with natural blonde hair and green eyes, I got white cousins and Aunts and Uncles that I am very cool with and get to experience much White Culture from and they LUV me and are not Afraid of me in the Least!

and I got Black Aunties and cousins and Uncles and I experience much black Culture from them. Ranging from cultured black folks to my black cousins that live Ghetto fabulous life & they LUV me too!

ALL mixed people are not confused about who they are and where they come from, only people that dont know shyte about the topic & who are closed minded about it!

Im 1/4 Black/cherokee Indian/and the rest is white. I Don't have a problem with dating out of your race. I've never really experienced racism. Most of the people the see me say that i look so exotic. Right now im seeing this biracial guy(black/white) that has blue/green eyes and blonde hair. SO i mean...i shouldnt be based on "what color you are" or your race. I think its should be based on your personality and just "you" in general!

Nothing will appear less attractive to you than the predictable today and that which was acceptable yesterday will seem tedious. Try to deliberately court people and activities that will inject some excitement into your life and exercise that bright intellect.
