Samuel Evans, Chairman of the National Council of Public Auditors, sent the following letter to every member of Congress in 1989:
"I address this letter to you requesting a Congressional investigation into the 'allegations' that our government is financing research and development through genetic heredity engineering to multiply certain viruses to kill specific racial groups...The multitude of allegations, statements, news articles and personal testimony demands prompt clarification. For instance, it is alleged: 1. That Col. David L. Huxsoll, commander of the U.S. Army Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Md., has received $60 million for research in biological ethnic weapons. 2. That it might be possible to wage ethnic warfare by developing substances that affect one race more than another. According to Newsweek magazine, Jan. 16, 1989, an example would include 'Valley fever, which is much more likely to kill blacks than whites.' Another substance, developed at a southern California university, is believed to kill only people with melanin in their skin. 3. That it is a coincidence that Fort Detrick, which is where Col. Huxsoll's biological research is being conducted, is also the site of AIDS research.... These allegations go to the very root of our constitutional form of government and basic world human rights, and must be responded to by elected governmental officials on all levels. Nothing less than a Congressional hearing and investigation that may lead to a full world conference in the United Nations is needed to clarify and defuse the alleged mentally deranged plan of world depopulation by ethnic weapons." (Published in the Executive Intelligence Review, 3/17/89) The Report of the President's Chemical Warfare Commission admits, "The rapid advances of genetic technology -- in which the US for now is fortunately the leader -- offer the predictable likelihood of new agents being developed for which no vaccines or counteragents are known or available." (Govt. Printing Office, 1985) Erwin Chargaff, Professor Emeritus of Columbia University and recipient of the National Medal of Science for his work with DNA, warned of such research: "I should say that the spreading of experimental cancer may be confidently expected." (New York Times Magazine, 8/22/76) The Foundation for Economic Trends, in a 1987 lawsuit, forced the Department of Defense to divulge its operation of 127 chemical and biological warfare research sites in the U.S., including universities and corporations, as reported by Science Magazine (2/27/87). The Literaturnya Gazeta (U.S.S.R.) first reported that the U.S. military of bioengineered AIDS sixteen months later, on October 30, 1985. |

Tony Brown's Journal, the longest-running black public affairs program on PBS, aired a four-part series on man-made AIDS: "The First AIDS Whistle-Blower" with Dr. Strecker (#1214); "What Causes AIDS" with Dr. Cantwell (#1215); "Is AIDS A Biological Experiment?" with Dr. Leonard Cole (#1217); and "Is AIDS Man-made?" with Dr. Rudolph Jackson (#1132). Bill Cosby stated his belief that AIDS was man-made on CNN, Thanksgiving 1991. Polls show two-thirds of African Americans believe AIDS to be man-made.
The London Times ran a front page story, "SMALLPOX VACCINE TRIGGERED AIDS VIRUS," (5/11/87) in which two World Health Organization officials connected the outbreak of AIDS in Africa to the 1977 smallpox vaccination program. This important story never appeared in any mainstream U.S. news media. Nor has the 1979 New York City hepatitis B vaccine trial blood samples containing the first confirmed cases of AIDS. A Higher Form of Killing, the 1982 underground bestseller by journalists Robert Harris and Jeremy Paxman, documents hundreds of incidents in which the U.S. Army admittedly experimented upon soldiers and civilians with chemicals and viruses in cities such as San Francisco. Current congressional hearings reveal deadly radiation experiments were conducted on countless unconsenting citizens by the U.S. military during the 1950s,'60s and '70s. |

From American Factfinder: You are right the black only population makes up 12.4% of the total US population. However: From American FactFinder: Total Pop of Black Only Americans is 370015483 Total Number of Black Only Unmarried Women who gave birth is 400,878 What numbers are you crunching to get 40%? Mizz whatever from Italy, STOP showing an utter and complete bigotted attitude towards poor people. Your derogatory views of the poor are just as ingorant and small minded as the views of a racist. Given your country's own extreme racial, ethnic, and religious intolerance, I fail to see how you can argue your "sensitivity" to any issue. Read your own damn posts. |

1 I cannot believe you actually said that -- "If he truly cared, he would attempt to change our reality by putting something into motion because he has the resources to change things." Do you have any idea all the things Bill Cosby has done? How much money he's donated? How many causes he has backed? Do just a bit of research on here while you're writing your opinions. Maybe he cares enough to do some tough-love. Why are you so unwilling to listen? Other than that, it's not up to Bill Cosby or Barack Obama to change things in the black community. It's up to each individual. And it's all well and good to have excuses up to a point, then one becomes an adult (if he should live so long) and is responsible for his/her own actions. Choices. Decisions. We all have to make them. Then we have to live with them. |

1 Many old black ladies clutch their bags when white guys pass them because they have been victimized before. Funny how that works. |

1 Since the early days of the AIDS epidemic, researchers have reasoned that a handful of people -- maybe even a single individual -- bore the unknowing responsibility for having introduced the disease to North America and its first large group of victims, the homosexual community. By tracing sexual contacts, officials at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta in 1982 found a likely candidate: one man who, through his sexual liaisons and those of his bedmates, could be linked to nine of the first 19 cases in Los Angeles, 22 cases in New York City and nine more in eight other cities -- in all, some 40 of the first 248 cases in the U.S. The CDC acknowledged his role with an eerie sobriquet: it called him Patient Zero. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9... So I guess the american government first gave it to a pretty boy white flight attendent from Quebec ... and just counted on black promiscuity to eventually get them in trouble? Quite the conspiracy theory... Stupid |

No...statistics take into account PERCENTAGES. In 2006, the overall birth rate for 15– to 19– year-old females was 41.9, but— the rate was 83 among Hispanics (twice the overall rate), 63.7 among non-Hispanic blacks (however, blacks have a slightly higher teen pregnancy rate than Hispanics), 54.7 among American Indian or Alaska Natives, and 26.6 among non-Hispanic whites. The above is from the cdc...you might want to read below that and see the stats for HIV in 13-19 year olds. http://www.cdc.gov/Reproductivehealth/Adolesc... Look this is far more serious than whether you're black and I'm white and whether either of us have had an equal opportunity. It's getting to a crisis point for the future. |

1 First of all, I also own my home and a cabin on Lake Superior. Second of all, you seem obsessed with white people. Why is it so important to have the largest home in a white neighborhood? I could care less where you live but you certainly do. Maybe some white people react negatively to you because you clearly have a large chip on your shoulder. Thirdly, philosophically speaking, we all share in the human condition-our bondage is self-inflicted. Have you had any higher education? Why can't we focus on our shared humaness instead of our differences? |

Your personal experiences do not change statistical trends. Blacks rallied around O.J., Kobe, Jackson, R. Kelly the same way they rally around the half-black Obama. |

1 Oh Hell this thread went straight to hell in a handbasket. Slavery, even in the US, has nothing to do with race today. NOTHING. It is also a fact although one people often choose to IGNORE, that whites were enslaved as well. I know because some of my own ancestors came to the US as slaves. More whites were enslaved through serfdom. Native Americans were also enslaved. Slavery was an industry, EVERY SINGLE country in the world at the time had slaves, and traded them. Spain was notorious for its role in the trade. And AIDS is not a manmade virus. And it was not believed to have been small pox, it was through the polio vaccine. The theory you are speaking of is that AIDS actually spread due to the reuse of contaminated needles used to provide mass vaccinations against Polio. Snipped from American Scientist Online: "One is quite controversial—the notion that the progenitor virus (which in the case of HIV-1 is found in chimpanzees) crossed into humans through a large-scale trial of an experimental oral polio vaccine carried out in the Belgian Congo between 1957 and 1960. The main competing theory is that the simian progenitor virus passed to humans through cuts as someone was hunting or butchering a chimpanzee (or, in the case of HIV-2, a type of West African monkey called the sooty mangabey). The difficulty with the cut-hunter concept is that, taken alone, it does not explain why the simian progenitor virus did not make the jump to humans before the middle of the 20th century (and then, why it did so multiple times). To answer that riddle, two modifications have been proposed. Both suggest that accidental blood-to-blood contact accounts for how these simian viruses first infected people and that specific human actions allowed them to spread in the population and eventually mutate to HIV, sparking the current pandemic. One hypothesis implicates the widespread reuse of disposable syringes, which were introduced during the 1950s. The other focuses on the disruptions of the colonial era, a time when Europeans brutalized the natives of Central Africa, resulting in the deaths of millions and forcing large-scale population shifts—all the while subjecting many Africans to medical treatments that probably involved the reuse of unsterilized syringes. Moore, an anthropologist and an author of the last of these theories, gives a balanced account of the various possibilities." |

Can I borrow the keys to the cabin? It would be a nice gesture. I'll give you a can of spinach. It'll make you strong like Popeye. |

Dismayed, I am white, and I agree US social statitistics are or at least should be of great concern to all of us, but I am feeling the need to defend black Americans from generalizations being used to support a very racist attitude.
It is one thing to discuss the degredation of society within different age groups and communities, but an entirely different thing to use that as a basis for race against race talk. |
Whites in that age group marched for civil rights and are not called racists if they don't vote for Obama. Blacks in that age group marched for civil rights and are praised for voting on nothing more than a racial divide. Funny how that works. |

Here is the best source for hiv AIDS research into the cause I found... It explores various senarios ... including the conspiracy theories ... if you are really interested.
It has been known for a long time that certain viruses can pass between species. Indeed, the very fact that chimpanzees obtained SIV from two other species of primate shows just how easily this crossover can occur. As animals ourselves, we are just as susceptible. When a viral transfer between animals and humans takes place, it is known as zoonosis. Below are some of the most common theories about how this 'zoonosis' took place, and how SIV became HIV in humans: http://www.avert.org/origins.htm |

I think the United Nations needs to investigate themselves before investigating the U.S. about racism.
There has been massive eartquakes in China, major famine in the Sudan,as well as many other horrors made by mother nature. And then the Olympics are in China this summer so doesn't it seem that the UN so called peacekeepers have enough on their plates? If the United Nations were objective and represented the world as it was intended to do then I suspect the UN would advise world leaders to join the hunt for Bin Laden and I suspect it would make clear to Iran that if Iran became a nuclear Iran then all the super powers of the UN(U.S.,Russia,China,France,En gland)will eliminate the threar they possess. |

Because everyone else is either a "reconquista", a black that blames whites for every social ill they've ever suffered, a communist or a muslim that wants to kill anyone that isn't a muslim. The only thing stopping them from wiping us out is the fact that they all hate each other as much as they hate whites. |

Did the civil rights movement end white racism toward blacks? I'll answer that for you. No! And white of the era still vote on the racial divide. If anything is true, racism is still alive. It's not immune to whites. It's not immune to anyone. So, check that fella who made the comment about white women grabbing their purses. That would be nice. |
