Paula needs to quit taking cheap digs and be GRATEFUL that the first lady would even show up for her show

So, why are you all so threatened when Dolly is mentioned would be my question. She wrote it and she deserves every penny she makes. Then again, she made plenty of money in her own right and in writing her own songs, her movies, etc.
I would say that people should be thanking Dolly in that the song's popularity is due to Dolly's creativity and why she's the legend that she has been for her entire career and not due to one song someone else wrote, recorded twice previously in making it to a #1 spot and crossing over to a #53 spot as was stated.
Parton's song was recorded by Whitney when she was at her peak and never again had a success like she did w/Parton's song. It indeed shows why Dolly is a legend in that the song has been timeless and everytime it's recorded, it takes off.
Plain and simply, I believe in giving the artist who created the song or what have you in that it's wrong that the creative talent is hardly an afterthought. She should have been given full due but as people have repeatedly stated, Whitney made it hers and I call that stealing. But Parton is far kinder than I but indeed, she's a shrewd business woman in that hardly would she have allowed her work to have been used without gaining a profit.
