Bianchi future unclear amid Marussia uncertainty

Sep.15 Ferrari's management revolution will have no impact on the driver lineup, new president Sergio Marchionne insists. With Stefano Domenicali, Luca Marmorini and now long-time president Luca di Montezemolo all falling victim to the fabled team's poor performance in 2014, it has been suggested the turmoil at Ferrari might also affect the drivers.

Raikkonen admits ERS weakness

Kimi Raikkonen has revealed Ferrari need to "look at" their Energy Recovery System if they hope to close the gap to the front runners. Ferrari had a dismal time last weekend at Monza where they lacked the straight-line speed needed to challenge at their home race.

Raikkonen: ERS improvement vital

Kimi Raikkonen believes Ferrari needs to target a big Energy Recovery System improvement if it wants to close the gap to its rivals this winter. Ferrari's lack of straight-line speed was brutally exposed at Monza, where Raikkonen picked up the team's two points by finishing ninth while Fernando Alonso suffered a retirement with an ERS issue.

Kimi says it's ERS, not the engine

There has been a lot of talk about Ferrari lately and with good reason, they just resigned their 23-year-long President in favor of a more Fiat-centered approach. The new boss leveled a finger at the "sporting arm" of Ferrari and specifically the engine they created to contest the 2014 season which saw the biggest regulation changes in decades-most notably a V6 turbo with hybrid system.

Magnussen hit with another stewards' penalty at Monza

Kevin Magnussen endured another heartbreaking end in Monza after being hit with an aggressive driving penalty for the second race running. McLaren's Dane was duelling with Valterri Bottas with a third of the Italian Grand Prix to go and when the pair entered the first chicane at the high-speed Italian track, Magnussen was judged to have pushed the Williams driver off the track.

Formula 1 - Bottas: Williams clearly best option

Valtteri Bottas has no doubt that staying with the Williams Formula 1 team for the 2015 season is the best option for his career right now. Williams announced on the eve of last Sunday's Italian Grand Prix that it would be retaining Finn Bottas alongside Felipe Massa for next year, before Bottas leapfrogged Ferrari's Fernando Alonso for fourth in the 2014 F1 drivers' championship after finishing fourth at Monza.

Jenson Button has lauded Lewis Hamilton as "one of the quickest drivers ever to jump into a Formula 1 car" and praised his former team-mate's resilience and maturity during an often turbulent and controversial 2014 campaign. After partnering Hamilton for three years at McLaren following his 2009 title success with Brawn, and with more than 250 races under his belt, few are better placed to assess Hamilton's standing in the F1 pantheon than the 34-year-old Button.

Santander chief Botin dies

The 79-year-old was chief of Europe's biggest bank Santander, a major Ferrari sponsor and closely aligned with Fernando Alonso. "Ferrari will always remember him as one of its most enthusiastic fans and it is thanks to him that we enjoyed such great support from Santander," said departing Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo on Wednesday.

Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo will leave the company next month amid a disappointing season by the flagship Formula One team and before an imminent stock listing of merged parent company Fiat-Chrysler. Montezemolo will depart on Oct. 13 following Ferrari's 60th anniversary celebration of sales in the United States, a statement from Fiat-Chrysler said on Wednesday.
