Speed dismisses F1 return and insists: My future is in America

I like the wording: "former Toro Rosso ace"... Good ol' Scott was a washout, and Toro Rosso is a backmarker team.

Well, Good ol' Scott is just as big a washout in NASCAR as he was in open wheel. I'm thinking about one more year of no bang for the buck and Red Bull will send him packing. The last three years has proven one glaring thing, racing a 3400 pound stocker around in circles ain't no piece of cake and just because you've had a little success in a little open wheeler doesn't mean squirt. Back in A.J. and Mario's day, when you had to wrestle the open wheeler around too, there were a few that was good enough to be successful in both but that day is long gone. Juan is as close to it as it gets and he's been through the fire trying to get to the top in a stock car. No, you don't drive tinker toys till you're almost thirty and then jump to NASCAR and instantly kick ass in Cup.

Why would Scott Speed want leave NASCAR? He make lots of money and never have to worry about the pressures of being competitive.

Oh, he's going to leave NASCAR pretty soon. Red Bull isn't going to spend 20 million a year for him or anyone else to ride around doing nothing forever. The man has one top five since he came to Cup racing. He is 35th in driver points, 36th in owner points and has missed 3 races this years. Yep, that sounds like a real weiner to me.

Sounds like 50% of the drivers in NASCAR; they should all get demoted to Nationwide or that dopey truck series.
