Lions cut Carson Butler, give Aveion Cason a tryout

Maybe Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith really is on a week-to-week status or maybe he isn't. The Lions brought in a slew of players for tryouts today and while that's normal in terms of building the "short list,'' it should be noted that only certain positions were targeted.
