Houston Texans The Texans re-signed Quintin Demps on Thursday to a one-year deal worth $700,000. Demps is a " young player with a huge upside ," according to defensive backs coach Vance Joseph.

He was 68. Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple confirmed that Avezzano died in Italy.

The 5-foot-11, 206-pound Demps had a career year with Houston last season with 22 tackles, two interceptions and two passes defended in nine games.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Demps posted career highs of 22 tackles, two interceptions and four passes defensed in nine games with the Texans last season after signing with the team in October.

The Texans didn't extend a tender offer to safety Quintin Demps as a restricted free agent, but he'll be back with the team anyway.
