Source: Favre doesn't fit into Ravens' plans
The Ravens are unlikely to show interest in acquiring Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, a team source said.
The team is set to hold an open competition among Troy Smith, Kyle Boller and Joe Flacco in training camp.
Two seasons ago, the Ravens went the veteran quarterback route, trading a fourth-round pick for Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair. He went 13-3 in his first season before injuries ruined his second one.
The Ravens had expected to get one more season out of McNair to ease the transition to a young quarterback, but he abruptly retired in April.

Ravens to meet with Flacco rep
The Ravens will meet with the agent for first-round quarterback Joe Flacco over the next two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) as the sides try to reach a deal before training camp begins July 22.
Flacco, the 18th overall pick, will compete against Troy Smith and Kyle Boller for the starting quarterback job. He will increase his chances of starting the season opener if he can avoid a holdout.
'I'm very hopeful Pat [Moriarty, Ravens chief negotiator] and I can finish this off before everything begins,' said Joe Linta, the agent for Flacco.

Julie, Baltimore: OK, Mike, it's the beginning of the second half, and through one half, Boller looks pretty good. No turnovers, no stumbles, few incompletions, and 2 TDs. Green Bay's defense is supposed to be pretty good against the pass. Can you give Boller credit for playing well, or will you stoop to attributing it to Green Bay being a bad team? Come on, Mike, credit where credit is due.
Mike Preston: It's Christmas Julie, and I'm in the spirit of giving. A lot of people want fancy and expensive gifts, and all you want is praise for Kyle Boller. Oh, if I only had relatives like you. ... Boller was incredible. He was on fire. He performed like a combination of Joe Namath and John Unitas. He had the quick release and the rifle arm. It was his best game as a pro, and in the true spirit of Christmas, I'm willing to forgive all the mistakes he has made in the past three years. I'll take it even further. He showed great 'character and toughness' rebounding from the Denver fiasco a week ago.
