Notebook: Peppers says hand is improving

Defensive end Julius Peppers saw an increased role on defense Sunday, returning to play in the team's base set after being relegated to mostly obvious pass rush situations the two previous games because of a so-called "messed-up hand." "It's getting better," said Peppers, who wouldn't discuss whether or not he broke a bone in his hand.
