One step forward, two steps back has morphed into four and one-third steps forward and six and two-thirds steps back for the hapless Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Believe it or not, we have reached the midpoint of the 2009 NFL season. Halloween is over, and Thanksgiving and Christmas are now on the horizon - and with them, the stretch run of what should be a wild conclusion to the season.
