If someone worked in construction and they got in trouble, went to jail, paid their fines etc should they never be allowed to work construction again?

You're kidding yourselves if you think the NFL is only about team spirit and sports. That game has a positive effect on the economy in
many states. The money generated by these teams is astronomical. Many hotels and restaurants would fail if not for these teams. No other sport sells out venues like this game. The part-time jobs created at stadiums pay a lot of bills. Somebody is getting rich off the dollar an ounce beer. I'd be remiss if I failed to mention the 300 pound millionaires whose taxes help to maintain cities. |

2 points, if I may: 1. Ever tally up how much public monies, that is, citizen monies, are ponied up to build and support these sport franchises? I'm saying, think about where the money REALLY comes from, before you call it a contribution, as it's really a redistribution of citizen monies. 2. In a depression which is deepening as we write, these venues will either have to drop their prices signficantly, and I mean a LOT, in the near future. This is discretionary spending, it won't last, in fact isn't it already having an effect. |

The dogs once set upon his peers in civil rights battles, Vick set upon each other, attesting to the fact that we do not always learn from experiences. May he learn from this one.

the would not be allowed to work on a federal or state-funded construction job. |

For SURE - It's not as if Daniel Snyder doesn't charge a major fortune for season tickets, but the Redskins are supposedly the #1 team in money brought in by other stuff with their name on it. |

I propose a change to the NFL playoff schedules. Instead of three playoff games and the Super Bowl, we should move to the Michael Vick Playoff Schedule. In this scenario all 32 teams compete but the minute a team loses, the entire team is put down. The winning team goes on to play another winner. Last team standing is Super Bowl champ and you get a belly rub instead of the trophy.

Interesting concept, but I don't think I'll vote your way - my guys wouldn't make it far because they get paid a fantastic salary yet they really just don't care. |

nice joke! |

Look what has already happened to Favre since becoming a Viqueen, although I loved him GB, I'm a packer fan. That crop block he threw Monday, could have been career ending. He never pulled that shit in GB.

Get off the soapbox. Vick paid dearly for his crimes by spending time in the Kansas House of Pain. In my opinon, the only people who should be denied a right to work are repeat offenders who never do a day locked up and pay their way out of trouble.
By the way, the term "put down" is usually used when refering to shelter dogs who are not adopted in a timely manner. |

1 I alos can't wait to see Favre play The packers and to see how Vick does! |
||||
You better check again!!!! ONly jobs they'd be restricted from would be public schools and fed buidlings that required a clearance, all depending on the class of crime they've been convicted of. I worked with and know of MANY former felons, including one convicted of murder have and are working on state and federal projects! |
