It's my favorite time of the year. I love training camp. It might be the dog days of summer, but I don't care - there's nothing like getting to know rookies, watching free agents make big plays against starters or watching starters make some of the most unbelievable plays.

When I look at this season the Texans gave me some room for optimism last year. Toward the end of the year we started to see a swarming defense that looked capable of making plays and at times showed they could even make a play or two when needed.
