Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis spent Thursday seeking a second opinion in an attempt to learn why his injured knee is not healing.

Brian Westbrook raised his hand yesterday and said he was ready for more work. "I think I can make some plays when I have the ball in my hands," Westbrook said before practice yesterday.

Eagles middle linebacker Omar Gaither will have Lisfranc surgery on his injured foot this week, Eagles coach Andy Reid said.

It's funny to see today's moves announced as the "final" roster cuts. There's nothing final about this.

The Eagles made their roster cuts down to the regular-season limit of 53 Saturday, and the biggest surprise might have been that they placed quarterback Michael Vick on the "exempt" list, meaning he doesn't count against the roster but cannot practice during the two weeks he is suspended.

Michael Vick now knows when he'll get a chance to play and we could soon find out about his first public appearance away from the field.
