Did anyone ask Childress about Favre today? Do you get a sense that they have closed that door?

Childress doesn't know how to deal with the press. That is obvious. It is less obvious, but nevertheless true that he doesn't have the ability to lead the players. The situations with Culpepper, Berk, Antoine, and ASHER ALLEN????? should convince anyone, even a Wilf. The Allen no comment is telling. Can you imagine a 3rd round rookie dissing Lombardy, Grant, Ditka, or the guy in New England, Bele whatever?

So, can any one tell me why the Vikings dodecahedron of stupidity has yet to sign Antione Winfield to a contract extension?

I Zygi pinching pennies in order to get his lobbyists in to see Gov Pawlenty before he leaves office so that Timmie will build Zygi's $1Billion dollar fleecing of Minnesota?

"I want all to know that I'm not at OTAs because I don't want to be there,"

Wow! Is English a second language for him, or is he acting like Brett Favre?

Winfield's approach to a contract extension should focus on two things: 1. He's an excellent defensive corner. 2. His age is not a factor as he is physically fit and able to perform at a high level for several more years.

Now if the Vikings are trying to save salary cap room to sign a soon-to-be 40 year old Favre at the expense of Winfield, then he should be upset. With Winfield, he still has fuel in the tank!

You do realize Asher Allen had a small procedure done on his knee, and should be ready for training camp?

Also your spelling of some of the names is quite comical.

As a player, I like Winfield. He's a very good player. NOT an "excellent" player. He whined a few years ago when things didn't go the way he wanted them to also. He's getting paid big-as-s bucks already. All that he's doing, is showing that it's the money. People can't go dumpin' all of this crap on Klink. I mean, he doesn't do the contracts or dole out the money. He does enough of his own special $h!t, but this isn't one of 'em. Taylor probably wants to be traded. Who can blame him? He could easily start somewhere. He's a damn good RB. Versatile as all hell. Good trading chip. But, alot of veterans try to duck out of "organized grab-as-s". I wouldn't freak too much about it.

Lol- Hey look pal, I think Childress is a bit of a turd too, but Culpepper had a big hand in his own exit from MN. And Birk told the press out East that he WANTED to leave. He sold off some property a year in advance of his leaving too. Childress doesn't do the contracts, raises, etc. That's front office crap. But, you're right: He comes off like a mumblin' dip$h!t in interviews and most press things. Maybe he's better in person??? There's actually alot of players that really do like him.

give the guy his money. He's one of the most dependable players we've had over the years, and one of the best tacklers we've ever had. He's in good shape for his age and is still one of the top defensive players in the league for his age at his position. Plus, he wants to be here! What more can you ask for?

We keep paying millions for guys who are h-back, tight end, blocking back fullbacks. Half of them never play. So, what's the problem with taking that money and giving it to someone who produces? I have no problem seeing hard-working, good citizen, peforming players get their money. All it takes is one play in pro football and you're done. This isn't baseball or basketball where you can play 15 years and walk away.
