Manassas Park girls' team snatches its first state title
The Manassas Park girls' outdoor track and field team won its first-ever Virginia A state championship on Saturday at Radford University, finishing with 56 points to defeat James River (51) and George Mason (38).
Junior Sharese Roberts, the Cougars' only individual champion, won the 200-meter dash in 25.35 seconds. She was second in the 100 (12.27) and 400 (56.98).
Junior Tajay Davis finished fifth in the 100 (12.67) and was seventh in both the 200 (26.61) and triple jump (32-10). Freshman Victoria Dumas was third in the 300 hurdles in 48.93.
