Well, this writer is optimistic. 9-7 may be enough to win our division as weak as it is. I don't agree with grading us with a D on Mike Mitchell because I think he'll be starting with Tyvon Branch at the safety positions. He apparently thinks it will be Huff and Eugene and doesn't even mention Keith Davis.

I am not convinced it will be a weak division this year...I think Raiders will Step up and Chargeless will have a decent year...A lot depends on Denver....
They could be a huge surprise...Orton is a decent QB that never had a "star" WR to throw too....Plus Shany is gone and as good as a coach as he was...His message was getting stale so if this new coach can rally the troops it could be an interesting year....KC seems to always show some fight when need be...but should be a last place finisher in the AFC West.
My only concern for the Raiders this year is we have a brutal schedule.

whats up faith? i agree with you on the tough schedule. the good part about it is if we win alot of those games, even if it's by a field goal or luck! in reality a W is a W. and that is what we need this year. RAIDERS have alot of talent but the W's will boost confidence.

I'm sorry to hear about that. My sister just got a divorce and is now living with me and my daughter. We just bought a nice 3BR 2 bath house in a fairly nice neighborhood. It's got a nice pool in the back yard too. Life is good. I'll never know what a divorce is like because my daughter's dad died right after I got pregnant with her. My sister watched me struggle for a long time to establish myself and I couldn't even start college until my daughter was in school and I only got an associate's degree because it was everything I could do just to get back in the swing of school, but I got a decent job now and with my sister and I having a dual house hold income, we are able to live a little more and my daughter won't be as deprived. My sister kind of wants a kid but can't because of passed medical problems. She loves mine a lot so we are a happy family of raiderettes. My sister doesn't really care about football but only likes the raiders because I like them and hates it when our parents and bros talk about the blue star cowpokes; she's more into music and plays the keyboard pretty well. My daughter is starting to learn the raiders and already likes Johnnie Lee Higgins and Thomas Howard as her favorite players. My older bro and his wife fight a lot and after all the abuse my sister put up with, she says that single life is much better.

Very sorry you have had a rough go of it....that you are thriving instead of rolling over says a lot about your character....
But I think marriage can be a good thing with the right person...I will probably get married again....but I learned a lot the first go round...which will help me in future relationships....But I will also be more careful on who I marry...
I dated this girl once whose parents met and with in two weeks got married....31 years later they were still nuts about each other....it can work.....just need to find the right one.
I will not marry again unless she is a football fa...lol....doesn't have to be Raiders(but would be a bonus) but there is also something to be said for that playful my team is better than yours tension.....
anyway back to football.

Sounds like you've had a rough life. At least you're raising your daughter right. I hope mine will be a Raider fan. She'll also have an influence of cowboy fans since that's who all my in-laws like; I just hope she doesn't become a longhorn fan unless she goes to school there then it will be different.

Sorry to hear about your split man. I would hate for me and my wife to split especially with a little kid. We have plenty of disagreements, but neither of us could ever bring ourselves to that point unless an extreme circumstance happened.

Yeah I was scared at first when I found out I was pregnant on my senior trip to Corpus and having to witness my little girl's father's death before my very eyes the day after we did it and we had only known each other a few days. I was drunk and living in the moment at the time and after his death, something told me to take a pregnancy test before I went back home so I did and it was positive. I finally told my daughter about it last year. Everything has worked out for the better though and I learned my lesson and my little bro and sis watched me struggle and saw how tough things can be. I did get a tattoo of a Raider shield on my shoulder that says In Memory of...(my daughter's father's name) after my daughter was born. He was a Raider fan and that was what got us connected. I also have a Raider shield on my right ankle from my spring break/18th B-day trip to Orlando, FL. That was pretty much my rebel trip because I had a list of things that I was gonna do with my 3 best friends because I was 18 and nobody was gonna stop me; the tattoo of course, get piercings in my tongue, belly button, and nose, and buy a carton of cigs (my parents were ticked at that one the most even though they knew that I'd been smoking since I was 12). Luckily after I graduated and they found out I got pregnant they let me stay at home as long as I had a job. Things didn't quite go as I had planned in my adult life, but everything has been working out for the better. I guess I'm just scared of marriage or just feel it would be disrespectful to my daughter's father. Plus I don't like the way my older bro's wife treats him and after the way my sister talked about her marriage when she was married and now that she's living with me, I guess I just don't feel the need to be married because I can pretty much do whatever I want without anybody's permission; of course my daughter is first priority though. I am worried about my sister though because she has taken to going out and drinking a lot now and I already told her that if she gets arrested for DWI or anything like that while she is out she will be staying in jail because neither me nor my parents or bros will bail her out for being irresponsible like that plus I think it will be better for my daughter to have to see my sister spend the night in jail for breaking the law rather than us bail her out.

I just hope she's not influenced by my sister's alcoholism. I'm almost sure she's gonna want to try smoking since both me and my sister do so and she never complains about it and I really don't want her to but I can't say much since I do it and my parents didn't. So far she seems like a good kid, but she's only 9 so I'll just have to wait and see; her teachers always brag about her good behavior in school.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
