Punts Miss Cowboys' Video Board; Readers Have Kicks

One punt hit the Cowboys' video board Saturday night against the 49ers, but it came during warm-ups. Dallas Morning News: None of the 10 punts in the game came close to hitting the 60-yard long structure Saturday, one night after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ruled the video board could remain 90 feet above the field.

New Scoreboard Rules for 49ers-Cowboys Game

The new league rules say that "If a ball in play strikes a video board, guide wire, sky cam, or any other object," the down will be replayed as a do-over. The critical change is that the time gets put back on the game clock, and once the football hits the "object" the play does not count in any way.
