The scratches on fruit sellers arms and hands tell me all I need to know: It's berry season in Russia! A riot of color has broken out all over town: ripe reds, cool blues, deep purple-blacks, and even rare yellows pulse from half liter plastic cups and homemade birch bark baskets at vegetable kiosks.
