China's 1-child policy causes extra pain in the wake of killer...

“I'm 37 years old and my child was 13. If we were to do it again, I'd be 50 when this stage comes along”

Actually, its only a million or so right now from the US government for the earthquake not counting donatons. The amount of aid from US is a drop in a bucket, or more like a pool compare to the budget spent on Iraq. I hope you mean that billion as cumulative over the entire history of US, because it sounds a bit exagerated. US gov is not as kind as you think.

Tell-It,

My heart is sad for you. We are all one family! China has almost one fifth of the world population and has made greater sacrifices foir our world than you can imagine.

Americans see the world very differently, partly because of acculturation and methodology of education. Nevertheless, each tragedy offers a chance for hearts to come together.

When one gives from the heart, sincerely, it is the best gift, whether it is money or time, prayers, etc.

Katrina is America's shame. It merely reminded many that the US was not used to dealing with something so large scale, as is usual in the Pacific, in Japan, the Philippines, China, etc., where typhoons, earthquakes and so many natural disasters affect large populations.

Many people within America and throughout the world have volunteered for Katrina. Here is a link to one of them: www.garciagray.com

I pray you find peace, love and compassion, Tell-it! Namaste

Consider this.

Just look at the incompetence and mismanagement the US government demonstrated in their handling of the Katrina situation.

Now contrast this with the way the Chinese have dealt with the earthquake disaster and the ice storms from early in the year.

China beats the US hands down.

What are you rambling about? Nothing to do with what I wrote, I see. China is 1/6th of the world and I feel no sympathy for you! I remember watching a youtube video on USA today of little chinese children cheering as the twin towers fell on 9/11.

I also like my huge tv, thanks for building it so cheaply!

Maybe you heard that US bombed chinese embassy and in 2000 or 2001, Chinese were very angry at Japan cuz its prime minister visited the Tokyo war shrine. There was a very strong anti-west sentiment when 911 happend.

I was at the cross of Broadway and Canal street when the first tower was down. Every time I passed by zero ground, I still felt something missing. and I dont understand why US didnt rebuild it as it was, and some people claimed that the new tower(s) should not build on the original two squares where Twin towers used to stand, to show respect to victims.(can you explain that to me ?)
