Good idea. The nine 2MW turbines will generate about 0.4% the electricity of the proposed nuclear power plant. It will demonstrate the complementary and different nature of the two different low carbon generation options.

You left out it will consume 20x the amount of concrete and steel to intermittently generate that 0.4% of the capacity as the nuclear plant.
These "green" power projects are not green at all. Solar simply shifts the toxic waste of their manufacture to China and wind costs 20x as much in raw matierials to build. All the while simply having insufficient energy density to make a useful dent in what a modern industrial first world country needs for electrical power generation. |
