Extending school days until aroundd 5 p.m. would be a catastrophy for the vast majority of students, both kids and teens. It severly limits time to spenad with family, involvement in extracurricular activities, and forces teachers to spend even more time doing a job wich they are already very underpaid. In my personal life, an extended school day would completely kill my life. I already get home everyday around 5:30 p.m. after practice for soccer in the spring, wrestling in the winter and lacrosse in the spring, and have to do homework for three AP classes plus my other classes. On top of I go to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6-10, and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. I have very little personal time in my hands. If the school day was extended i would most likely have to drop either sports or work, both of which i refuse to give up just to I can sit in school bored like I usually do. It's effects on little kids would be more devastating as family and play time are perhaps the two thing that make up that childs future personality. so much school may help improve test scores, which i doubt, but Obama would be creating robots not intellegent well rounded individuals. And finally; teachers. They are already very underpaid and with todays struggling economy Obama wants to increase their working hours for an insignificant pay raise? And just to have to spent time with increasingly tired and inatentive student as the day drags on?

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Pisces

Whether the excesses of the past few days are catching up with you or you're feeling drained for other reasons, you need as much rest as possible today. Once you get tired, your defenses will be down and you'll start to fret about whatever is currently nagging away at the back of your mind. You're also concerned about the welfare of a certain person, which doesn't help.
