Grab Me a Bud, Wouldja?

Given the fact that the only reason we have survived as a species is our ability to think logically and with purpose, it is ironic that we spend inestimable time and energy trying to short circuit this ability. I wonder if there is any substance that we have not boiled and fermented, lit on fire and inhaled, eaten, stuffed up our noses, stuffed in our cheeks, inhaled through our noses, or directly injected into our bloodstreams in search of an altered state of consciousness.
