Listerine controls armpit odor when all else fails

Full story: The Clarion-Ledger

Q: I have suffered from foul-smelling armpits as far back as I can remember. I have tried every deodorant on the market to no avail - Dove, Lady Speed Stick, Soft & Dri, Degree, Suave, Mitchum, Ban, Crystal, vinegar, baking soda, milk of magnesia, alcohol, Arrid Extra Dry and Certain Dri.

I am 50 yrs old; I have been using Milk of Magnisia as a deodorant for more than 35 years. As an early teenager I had a problem with perspiration and underarm odor; I was told to try Milk of Magnisia it; it has worked well. In my late teens I stopped using it but my T-shirts and white dress shirts would get a yellow stain in the underarm area. I would also sometimes get a waxy feeling in the underarms when using stick deodorants. I reverted back to Milk of Magnesia.

When using MoM I barely sweat in the underarm area and I DO NOT have any issues or concerns with underarm odor, in fact should I run out of MoM or forget to take it on a trip I can skip a few days with out any concerns…it is as if I am cured with its lasting effect with its usage.
After knowing about this and using it for more than 35 yr, I still wonder why more people are not knowledgeable of this.

Never heard of using MoM for underarms. This sounded so strange that I had to try it. I put it on yesterday when going to work. I had my regular deodorant to take with me just in case MoM didn't work. When I left home, I realized I had forgotten to bring my deordorant wtih me. So now it was all or nothing. UNBELIEVABLE!!! No odor all day, nothing! This is too good to be true! I will continue with this. I think it works better than deodorant because I have sensitive skin and can't use all of them and sometimes the "mild" ones didn't protect long enough. But MoM is the truth. Never would've believed it.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Aquarius

You're in a tricky position because someone who is supposed to know what they're talking about seems to be spouting complete nonsense instead. If this is an older friend or relative then you can simply smile politely and wait for them to rejoin the rest of us on Planet Earth. But if it's a boss or bureaucrat who's talking rubbish or giving you some puzzling orders, you'll be in a quandary about what to do.
