Beer Prices Skyrocket

“More so the small guys than the larger ones because they have economies to scale, but all across the board nationally, brewers have had to raise their prices”

Customers are paying more for their favorite beers, but they don't seem to mind. via WCSH-TV Portland

Oh sure, we don't mind. As a matter of fact I wish they'd charge 10X the normal amount. People understanding the situation and dealing with it does NOT mean they don't mind.

Tip of the iceberg. Prices on everything will continue to rise. I guess if you drink enough beer you don't have to think about if for awhile.

Back in the day my aunt made something called home brew. I was a kid and so never did try it.
My grandmother made wine and years later my ex did too. We are going to have to go back to the times when people were much more self-sufficient.

Yep.
Got the garden up and going, now some brew.
I'd buy a horse instead of driving a car, but I think the price of hay and oats would probably go up too.

We had a garden when I was growing up. Nothing like fresh veggies. I'll bet the vet bills would be sky high too. Guess we are stuck with a differnet type of horse power.

Sure, why not tax the hell out of "Luxury" items and lower the prices on say, gas and food, you know the necessities.

I have 8 horses
70 head of cattle
12 hogs
35 sheep
and 10 goats

lets just figure the cost of taking care of the Horses

Grain 2.5lbs twice a day of a decent quality feed, My average is much higher $275 PER HORSE
*Hay (assuming you have some grass and can find low cost, quality grass hay $182 per horse

*Farrier care (trim only)$150+(Based on every 8 weeks, 6 weeks is typical.)
*Farrier care (Shoes)$420+(Based on every 8 weeks, most shoes won't last that long, I have it done every 6 weeks.)
*Worming (Paste only)$50
*Dental problems....lets not even go there...

Shots (Varies depending on which shots and how often they are needed)$100 each
*Emergency or other vet care Plan on having at least a few hundred laying around for anything that goes wrong, and this can be several times a year if you are not lucky.

And I grow PEANUTS and Cotton

If that paste is Ivermectin, you're getting royally reamed. I had to get a horse-sized tube of that for my guinea pigs and it only cost $8.50 for a 6.08 gram 1.87% syringe from the feed store (it was even apple flavored). Try here: http://www.bizrate.com/morepetsupplies/produc...

BTW, that's apparently enough for one dose for a 1250 pound horse. Here's the info for guinea pigs: http://www.guinealynx.info/ivermectin.html

I bought some great watermelon yesterday. Really good. I assume you are in northern Calif. I was there years ago. Beautiful country. Good luck with your "babies".:o)
