Gus, I agree. It does show that envious stupid people, who have achieved NOTHING, find the time to abuse a person (Lance) who has achieved something. However Gus, Do not dispair. Just another mindless piece from a crappy journalist.

As much as I hate this guy's generalizations, I do have to admit this: even if Lance wins, nothing he does, and nothing cycling does is going to get these arrogant cynics from proclaiming to all who can hear that cycling is dead. People just want to hold onto their stereotypes and never let go. I believe in this sport with a passion and I know that it IS bouncing back, but some people just have something within them that can't stand the Tour.

Well Jeremy, on the other hand we can't blame people for thinking the way they do. We all know how many athletes were caught doping, not only in cycling but, all over. And it makes "good news" for the newspapers, it's a "selling point" for them. So even if sport should be 100% drugfree, newspaper reporters will always "wonder" about an athlete's performance. Btw., what do you thinking of mr Bolt's performance? What were you thinking when he broke all those records at the last Olympics?!!

I will always wonder about Armstrong's performance as I will always wonder about Landis's guilt! That is human behaviour.

I saw Bolt's performance, and I don't think he would ever use drugs. In a country like Jamaica that is eternally addicted to track, a positive doping test is not grounds for suspension, it's grounds for exile for life. They would run Bolt out of the country for good if he used drugs.

I don't think that we will see a 100% clean cycling world. There will always be people that will risk fate. Still, when I hear that German newspapers will only write about cycling when doping is involved, it pisses me off. Cycling has a big problem, but there is a lot more to it than what the vulture journalists are conveying to the mainstream public.

Doping is not the AMERICAN way of competing, nor is it the FRENCH way, the SPANISH way, the ITALIAN way, or the CYCLIST's way of competing.

It is the CHEATER's way.

You can quote me on that.

This guy needs to research his cycling history before opening his mouth and inserting his foot into his mouth.

Oldest TDF Winners on record:

36 Firmin Lambot (BEL) in 1922

34 Hanri Pelissier (FRA) in 1923

33 Firmin Lambot (BEL) in 1919

In my opinion the greatest cyclist was and still is Eddy Merckx (BEL)

Cheers

Back on the Beaujolais again?

Mais Raymond, quel culot!

After your countryman shot riders, and after your Police killed a woman on the tour, you should be pensive, not abusive, about people who write better, and know more...

I forgive you, old man, because you just can't believe that Sarkozy actually likes the Tour... even F. Mitterand was following it today.(After Sarko reminded him and the rest of les ministres that the 'Tour IS culture'... heh heh)

As for 'where have I been?' you'll find twenty or more questions on several fora here at TPX, which were addressed to yourself, and ignored by yourself...

Crappy journalist? Go drink that 2007 swill and enjoy your pre-Verbier hangover...

Actually, since this is from Summit County CO, where the median altitude is like 2,700m above Raymond's botox'd buttox, we may forgive a 'journalist' who writes 'Breckdown' and 'feet'(above: instead of 'breakdown' and 'feat')

WAIT A Minute!!! they're correct in the article... Gus, TPX? Who's at fault here?

Lance is NOT trying to prove anything. The guy loves the "Tour de France" , cycling and competing. Lance was simply getting bored.

tit-for-tat?

So mon petit prince, you support Hinault/LNDD/Indurain/Fignon (oooops: he's confessed now, so of course you knew it all along, and you Omerta'd that knowledge just like you're in denial about FESTINA and Virenque (ça me fait dégueuler)

Now your swill-du-jour seems to be the 3euro bottle of Côtes du Rhône? "ect. ect.", it's like you're turnin' German on us, Jan-mond :-)

Tongue in cheek? When did I say 'every non-American doper is guilty'?Desperation makes your writing-quality drop three niveaux, you know?

Pshaw, Raymie, I'm going to have to remind you that, maybe a year ago, or less, you wrote "ZEN, I just read your bio, maybe we have more in common than I thought..."

But it's Tour Time... Lance showed his age, damn site better than either of us could, I missed Verbier because I had MULTIPLE flats today and y-day, and thus decided the Gods were making me wait until Tuesday and Thursday...

Points!!! If you saw a dog next to Alberto on the stand: what breed?

ZEN)))

Superdomestiques for $300, Jeremy, it doesn't go any higher than this:

The Answer is "George Hincapie did this for seven years..."
