I was found guilty of driving under the influence in Missouri. My only sentence was to complete a SATOP (substance abuse traffic offense program), ie no suspended imposition of sentence or probation. This means that I'll be able to get a valid Missouri driver's license soon, and be done with it as far as Missouri is concerned. I'd like to move to Virginia, however Virginia's first time offense for DUI requires that your license be suspended for 1 year. If I move to Virginia after restoring my Missouri license, will I be able to get a Virginia license? I'll have served my Missouri sentence, but still be within the one year Virginia requires.
