On 04/10/15, members of the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit arrested the accused, Michael Thomas, on an outstanding arrest warrant and charged him with Possession of Child Pornography in the 1st degree, 53a-196d. The investigation started after the Connecticut State Police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that images of suspected child pornography were uploaded to cloud storage. Comment?

A West Hartford man has been charged with possession of child pornography by the state's Police Computer Crimes Unit. Michael Thomas, 51, of 9 Hawthorne Road, was arrested on a warrant Friday and charged with first-degree possession of child pornography. Comment?

A Richard Street man with a history of arrests is accused of harassing former ESPN anchor Michelle Bonner in several incidents, including "boxing in" her car during pickup at a West Hartford elementary school. Edward Cooper, 42, of 120 Richard Street, was charged last month with second-degree breach of peace for several incidents that occurred at Smith STEM School involving Bonner. Comment?

For Doug Glanville, an ESPN analyst and former Major League Baseball player, the act of shoveling his driveway last winter sparked a national conversation on policing and race relations. Glanville testified Monday during a public hearing on a bill drafted by Rep. Matthew Ritter, D-Hartford, that would explicitly prohibit police from crossing town lines to enforce municipal ordinances, such as West Hartford's ordinance against door-to-door solicitation.
