A drunk teenage driver hit our ford escape that was parked in the driveway of our home and then went on to hit our house before he came to a complete stop. We have rec'd some money for repairs and replacement of my vehicle, but what I am wondering is what would be a fair overall settlement. The insurance company is Farmers (and they have been nice up until we got a new adjuster) and now this other one is being pushy and wanting us to hurry up and finish work and clean up so that we can sign off on the accident. I informed her that I was not going to sign off until we knew if we had foundation trouble. The car hit below my sons room on a non load bearing wall. It did jolt loose some of the bricks on the other wall and we want to make sure everything is good before we sign anything.
