Is there any pro-bono attorneys in eastern CT that help with DMV licence reversal hearings?
I have a 3rd DUI convicted in 2007. I have done everything required by the DMV to get a hearing to reverse my license revocation. I am a full time student that is about to start working in the field I am studying but I just do not have the money to pay an attorney to represent me. I could do a payment plan but I have never herd of an attorney that would do such a thing.
Most DUI attorneys work on a payment plan, however, I don't know any DUI lawyers who work for free. You have to...
On probation and got my 1st DUI.
I was parked at a rest area for over 2 hours. I'm on probation for 6th degree larceny with 4 months to go. I was sleeping in the car when a cop knocked on the window. I picked the keys up from the floorboard, put in ignition to roll down window. Did 2 field sobriety tests and cop kept barking different orders during the test and saying what did I tell you to do? I did everything he asked. He put me in cuffs and said I was under arrest. Was informed that another cop followed me for 10 miles after almost hitting him, which was impossible because I was parked there for at least 2 hours. I still blew .15 but it's not that I'm trying to beat the charge, it's that I'm the primary source of income for my parents and going to jail would kill them. I can't afford an attorney so I need help.
If you can't afford an attorney, you need to ask the court for one. That's your right. Don't do this without a lawyer.
This is my 1st DUI, however I'm on probation for 4th degree larceny. Should I expect a VOP?
The DUI happened in a different part of the state than where I'm on probation for. However, my fear is that I will be violated of probation. I don't actually deal with a probation officer anymore, I deal with the state program and give random tests every 3 months. I have 4 months left of probation. I was parked at a rest area (sleeping) but had to put the keys in the ignition to roll down the window so I wasn't pulled over. Any thoughts on this? Does CT give 1st timers jail or just a program? Im already looking into a program here, wondering if I do it before it's ordered it might help me.
Getting into a program early will help. If the court allows you to use an Alcohol Education program, you might be able...
A person I know has a failure to appear warrant for court cases involving narcotics/DUI. Do I call the cops with his location?
This person also owes me an extreme amount of money which I believe he committed Larceny to obtain this money however the police have said it is a "gray" area. Will the police arrest him if I tell them his location when he checks in on a social network, does this help prove this individual has bad character and fraud-ed me into loaning him money?
His arrest on the warrant wont have any impact on whether or not any action will be taken about the "larceny" case....
Can the court find you guilty of 2nd D.U.I without a B.A.C.? Can the court access medical records and get doctors to testify?
I got into a single car accident six months ago, I fractured my ribs, face, and spine in 3 places and had spinal fusion, along with severe head trauma and brain bleeding. don't remember but i Refused a roadside sobriety test (Dmv suspeneded 3 years) due to my injuries I wasn't really able, but in my stooper told the cop I had been drinking. the officer didn't get a warrant for my B.A.C. as required because I said that. I've been going to court for 5 months, and they can't get results on me from hospital, pretty sure my lawyer asked them to look at this as my first and judge is considering. I'm aware dmv will still consider this my second. I asked "why we weren't fighting it" and my lawyer said "they could bring in doctors from hospital who will say I was intoxicated an the on call officer

What are the odds of a 19 year old, who has been charged with DUI in CT, obtaining a work permit for a suspended license?
I attended a party where i had planned to stay the night being it was a hotel. Within the course of 3 hours I consumed 3 shots and a beer. Towards the end i went into the hot tub, which was separate from the room. While in their someone from the party comes in and says "the cops are here, we have to leave". So i get redressed and leave the pool area and assumed it was okay too leave. I planned on just going straight home however my friend offered for me to drive two other people from the party home too. So I reluctantly did, and no more than 4 minutes down the road from the party I get pulled over for not signaling and arrested for DUI. Not to mention passed all of their tests too.
You should contact a DUI lawyer in your area. If you passed all the tests you may be able to fight the case. In...
Should I go with a public defender concerning a D.U.I. case? And should I / can I file a complaint about the arresting officer?
It was a dark rainy night, I am blind in my right eye and drive with caution. I was in the middle of a one way, 2 lane road when I made a right turn into the parking lot-I was being passed on the right by a young lady in a hurry. Our cars barley clipped each other and the state police were called, I had been working all day doing leaves ( I have a landscape business ) had had nothing to eat all day but I did have a few beers at the end of my day when this happened. The officer was very rude to me and seemed to be in a hurry to, as I found out it was the end of his shift and he was excited about just passing some class and wanted to show the girl his authority. the Breathalyzer was given the officer problems and I failed the test. Got a .09 something, just barley over -what do I do?
