For the second time in less than a week the People's United Bank branch inside Stop & Shop off Route 12 in Groton has been robbed , reports the New London Day. This latest robbery occurred at 3:20 p.m. as the suspect submitted a note to the cashier demanding money. Comment?

Waterford - The suspect in what appears to be a string of convenience store robberies continued to elude investigators Tuesday after robbing yet another store. Tuesday's target was the Henny Penny at 26 Norwich Road in the Quaker Hill Section of Waterford. Comment?

On April 2, 2015, Brian Fletcher, 34, of Jewett City, pleaded guilty in Hartford federal court to possession of firearms by a convicted felon. According to court documents and statements made in court, on November 22, 2013, a court-authorized search of Fletcher's residence revealed a .308 rifle, a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber VE Handgun, a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson Model 60 revolver, as well as multiple rounds of ammunition and weapon magazines. Three juveniles and a 19-year-old man planned for days before taking two guns from one of their homes earlier this month and forcing their way into the Groton home of two men they believed to be marijuana dealers, according to town police. Details of the March 6 home invasion/robbery at 139-8 Crystal Lake Road are contained in a probable cause report in the court file of Owen DeCosta, 17, of 405 Mohegan Ave., New London, who is accused of conspiring with Christian Cruz, 19, Samson Normandin, 17, and David Preston, 16, all of 22 Miner Lane, Waterford, to rob the Groton home of Zachary and Tim Crawford. Comment?
