A 30-year-old Utica man was arrested last week on charges that he had sexual contact with a child younger than 15. Joseph V. Pryor had sexual contact with the victim beginning in September, an investigation by Oneida County Sheriff's Investigator Dan Brown revealed. Pryor was arrested Friday and charged with third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors. Comment?

A Utica man repeatedly struck a 66-year-old woman with a shopping cart and made off with her wallet late last month at a Utica supermarket, police said. Leo Proper, 55, of Elm Street, proceeded to use the woman's stolen credit cards at least three times on different dates, Utica police said in a news release. Comment?
