The holidays got a little ugly over the weekend during the arrest of an alleged shoplifter at Tysons Corner Center, according to Fairfax County Police. A Falls Church man, who was being arrested for allegedly shoplifting at the mall, was also charged with Assault on Police, at the mall, in the 8000 block of Tysons Corner Center, Sunday at 12:02 a.m., police say. Comment?

Police are ready for the massive influx of shoppers expected to descend upon the Tyson's Corner area this holiday season, beginning on Black Friday, according to a news release from FCPD. Every year, the Fairfax County Police Department deploys specially-trained groups of plain-clothed and uniformed officers to combat "seasonal" crimes such as larceny, fraud and retail theft. Comment?
