The Sterling area has fallen victim to three bank robberies in recent weeks, prompting the Loudoun County Sheriff's office to implement new measures to counteract bank robberies this holiday season. In conjunction with the FBI Washington Field Office and the department's partners on the Violent Crimes Task Forces in Northern Virginia, detectives with LCSO's Criminal Investigations Division are visiting banks and speaking with their employees about steps to take before, during and after a robbery while the Field Operations Division is increasing patrols of Loudoun County banks. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has received two reports of theft from lockers at two gyms in Ashburn and Sterling last week. An unknown subject entered an unlocked gym locker sometime between 5:10 and 6:20 p.m. Friday and removed keys to a vehicle parked at the 21600 block of Red Rum Drive in Ashburn. Comment?
