According to a criminal complaint, officers were called to a Cottage Grove store at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, on a report of a theft. Two men reportedly stole a jacket and TV from the store, totaling $599. Comment?

A 46-year-old South St. Paul man reported his 2002 Jaguar stolen. Worth $8,500, the car was on consignment at a local auto sales store since Dec. 25. Looking into it, police found that the car was actually towed, because it appeared to be abandoned, as it was covered in snow and violating a parking ordinance. Comment?

The Minnesota Supreme Court has upheld a state law making it illegal for suspected drunk drivers to refuse a breath test. The high court Wednesday rejected a man's claim that the law violated due process by preventing him from refusing an unconstitutional, warrantless search. Comment?

After allegedly kicking in his girlfriend's front door and being charged with domestic assault and criminal damage to property Jan. 3, a 34-year-old Buffalo Lake man tried to make a deal with police to avoid going to jail. The police arrested the man at a South St. Paul apartment two days after the domestic incident was reported. Comment?
