How many days will I actually have to serve? It was for a DUI...
This is a re-posted question from a few days ago. Call a local attorney for this type of specific information.
I have recently had a hard time applying for jobs here in Maine due to an oui conviction in 2006. Is there any way I can fix it?
The oui occurred in wells, Maine. Since then I have been in the Maine army national guard and have served in Afghanistan and was recently promoted to sergeant last year. I have saved 7 years and still have 5 left on my contract. I am trying to better my life and family but this seems to be holding me back.
Unfortunately, Maine does not allow a criminal conviction to be sealed or expunged. The only thing that will help you...
Recently I was charged with operating under the influence, leaving the scene of a accident of property damage while my license was suspended (for a unpaid ticket.) The arresting officer gave me my court date for these three charges the day I was arrested. A few days later I received a letter stating the court date was changed and the listed offenses only stated OUI. So I called the court house and the clerk said that the only listed court date was for the OUI and that it was the only offense on record. Could this mean that the other two charges were dropped?
You will not know for sure what the charges are until your arraignment date. The officer does not decide on the charges,...

My wife was involved in an DWI accident with another vehicle, the other driver has "deep tissue" injuries.
The ADA wants to charge her with Felony driving to endanger, dropping the DWI charge, 60 days in Jail, 2 years probation. She has never been in trouble before, gone to a 30 day rehab program that our insurance does not cover & also a 3 week IPO. The DAD doesn't want to budge on a plea deal & seems dead set on a felony conviction. We have a lawyer but I'm not happy with the results so far. Any suggestions to negotiate with the ADA and avoid the felony charges which will follow her the rest of her life?

can the test be successfully challenged? I have read that these test are unreliable, so much so that federal agencies will not use them.
The test can be challenged. Was the urine sent to the HETL lab or just a "dip stick" presumptive test? You really need...
