Solon and Chagrin Falls experienced an uptick in property crime in 2013 - including more thefts and burglaries, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI released its annual Uniform Crime Report Monday showing a 33 percent increase in Solon property crime - with 193 reported in 2012 and 257 last year. Comment?

Solon police arrested a 17-year-old boy after he burned another boy's arm and made death threats. MENACING, HAMILTON COURT: At 3:23 p.m. on Nov. 3, a 17-year-old boy was arrested after burned a 15-year-old boy's arm with a lighter on a school bus, police said. Comment?

Theft by deception, Harvard Road: A man Nov. 2 that late last month he had received an email from Retail Active Inc., of Remsen, NY, recruiting him to sign up as a Mystery Shopper and earn $300. He soon received a check in the mail for $1,850, which he deposited in his bank on Oct. 27, after being told that amount would cover his secret shopping sprees. Comment?

Solon police are investigating an incident where a man threatened to burn down a Solon restaurant because they didn't have a certain brand of alcohol. MENACING, BAINBRIDGE ROAD: At 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 25, the owner of Harvest Kitchen and Lounge reported that a customer threatened to burn down the restaurant after being told the brand of scotch he wanted was not available. Comment?

Solon police received two reports of cars that had been covered in shrink-wrap overnight between Oct. 18 and 19. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, SOLON ROAD: At 10:17 a.m. on Oct. 19, a man reported that his 17-year-old daughter's car had been covered in shrink-wrap overnight. Her car was not damaged. Comment?
