Many people argue that with a BAC which is double over the legal limit, the DA will want to charge me the max fines. I received my 2nd DUI within 5 years and am considered a habitual offender. My license was suspended 5 years. I have completed all of my requirements, I spoke with the Administrative Review Board and they told me that I would not be able to transfer my Suspension to Cali, and that the only way to receive a hardship license would be through the FL Safety Council 1x month hearings. I requested to have a letter of authority, however they stated that since the suspension occurred in Florida, I would be unable to do anything except wait 5 years. Is this true?

Both of these DUI's occurred within the 5 year period in Florida, the last one being in 2010. I have since moved to California, and become a Registered Addiction Specialist at a In-patient drug and alcohol treatment facility. Hello, I'm a little cloudy on the SR-22 requirement in California. I received a DUI in Feb of 2008 and had my license suspended for 9 months. Afterwards, I had been in the habit of riding a bicycle and just never got my license reinstated because I didn't need it. I've seen conflicting information on the SR-22 requirement - some info has said I need to maintain an SR-22 on file for three years after having my license reinstated, others have said 3 years from the date of the DUI. My question is, since I never filed an SR-22 after the DUI, do I need to file one now and maintain it for three years, or do I not need to file one because it's been more than five years since the DUI conviction occurred?
