A Torrance judge on Wednesday allowed the wife of Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov to continue receiving counseling before she announces whether she will agree to testify during her husband's upcoming domestic violence trial. Indications are, however, she won't testify. Comment?

A man convicted of murdering his girlfriend and her mother in their Redondo Beach apartment just over three years ago is scheduled to be sentenced today. Jonathan Scott Chacon, 26, is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole for the Feb. 28, 2012, killings of his girlfriend, 19- year-old Courtney Bergman, and her 59-year-old mother, Vicki Bergman. Suspended Los Angeles Kings player Slava Voynov suffered a setback in his defense against domestic violence charges Friday when a Torrance judge ruled that two hospital workers and a police officer will be allowed to testify at his July trial about what his injured wife told them. The rulings culminated three days of testimony and legal discussions before Judge Eric Taylor, who rejected most of the defense team's arguments that Marta Varlamova's statements were coerced and not made spontaneously. A hospital social worker testified Tuesday that Marta Varlamova, the wife of Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov, said her husband pushed her head into the corner of a television when he spoke to her in a hospital treatment room. Justin Weber, a clinical social worker at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, said Varlamova appeared “distraught” when he approached her Oct. 19, when she sought first aid for a 1 1/2-inch gash above her left eyebrow. Two South Los Angeles gang members were charged Friday with holding up a Rolling Hills Estates clothing store and making off with $3,000 in perfume, deputies said. Maynor Antonio Douglas, 20, and Kervon Jordan, 18, were arrested Wednesday following an investigation by Lomita sheriff's deputies into the April 8 crime at Abercrombie & Fitch. Comment?
