Officers responded to the Red Roof Inn on East Absecon Boulevard in Absecon just before 5 a.m., and found 22-year-old Diante Owen, of Pleasantville, and 22-year-old Gerald Alvarez, of Mays Landing, dead from gunshot wounds, according to investigators. Authorities are investigating whether two other shooting victims are connected to the homicide. Comment?

ATLANTIC COUNTY -- An Egg Harbor City man who allegedly punched a man in the head, causing him to die two days later was charged with manslaughter on Monday, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Zachariah Mays, 24, of New York Avenue, was initially charged on Feb. 17 with aggravated assault for allegedly punching Kyle Athill, 30, in the head on Feb. 15., causing him to fall and hit his head. Police have charged an Egg Harbor City man with manslaughter in connection with the Feb. 15 death of an Absecon man in Pleasantville, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain. A Galloway Township man who is employed as a telecommunications officer with the Absecon Police Department has been charged with aggravated manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed a 29-year-old man on Feb. 6, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced Friday night. Richard Doherty, 36, was charged with first degree aggravated manslaughter for "recklessly causing the death of Alfonso Dickerson under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life, specifically by driving while highly intoxicated."
