A Dominican man, who most recently resided in Salem, was convicted yesterday of participating in a North Shore drug trafficking conspiracy. Jaime Aristy, also known as Junito, 29, was convicted on Friday following a seven-day jury trial for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance. Comment?

Patrick Lynch of Peabody was held without bail pending a detention hearing scheduled for Thursday at an initial court appearance on Monday. He was arrested Friday and charged with possession of child pornography. Comment?

Patrick Lynch, 22, of Peabody, was arrested on Dec. 12, and made his initial appearance on Monday in U.S. District Court in Boston on charges that he received and possessed child pornography. The criminal complaint alleges that Lynch received emails containing child pornography beginning in May 2013. Comment?

As the holidays arrive, so too do the annual holiday-related fears of shoplifting , and this year, a couple of Massachusetts police departments are getting active on policing that front. Chelmsford Police are deploying a high-visibility presence at shopping areas as part of what they call HSAP, or "Holiday Shoplifting Action Plan," police said in a statement. Comment?

A man was seriously injured when a taxi cab struck him while pulling a U-turn in a Boston Street parking lot on Monday night. Police said it happened at about 5:17 p.m. in the parking lot at Sunshine Laundry at 19 Boston St. The victim, an unidentified man in his 40s, was seriously injured and taken to Salem Hospital with serious head trauma. Comment?
