    Nicholas Patrikis, 23, of Huntington, was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, after, according to Nassau County police, he crashed a Jeep in Oyster Bay Cove and then broke into a nearby home on Royston Lane, ransacking it and killing a cat. After fleeing the home, police said he menaced several motorists on Cove Road with a knife, then boarded a school bus and robbed two students.

    A Huntington man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly broke into a home in Oyster Bay, ransacked the house, killed a cat and then took a kitchen knife and menaced drivers on a nearby road, police said. Nicholas Patrikis, 23, was arraigned Thursday on a slew of criminal charges, including second-degree burglary, second-degree robbery, two counts of third-degree robbery, second-degree criminal mischief, aggravated cruelty to animals, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon, third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle and resisting arrest.

According to detectives, Nicholas Patrikis, 23, of 17 Royal Oak Drive, Huntington , while operating a 2000 Jeep Wrangler northbound on Cove Rd., lost control of the vehicle causing him to strike a snow bank and fence in front of a residence on Royston Lane. The defendant then exited the vehicle, scaled the fence of an unoccupied home, broke the front glass door and entered the residence.
