District Attorney Mike Ramsey said no charges have been filed in the death of Joel Brian Eldridge, 37, due to concerns of having sufficient evidence to overcome an argument that alleged assailant Michael Patrick Anderson, 30, acted in reasonable self-defense. Under the law, a person can act in self-defense if he reasonably believed force was necessary to stop an imminent physical threat to him or others and the person used only a reasonable amount of force to defend himself.
