DUI conviction is blocking me from getting any type of job in my field of expertise.
I was charged with a 3rd degree DWI and assigned 2 years of unsupervised probation. Im wanting to move to the state of North
Carolina but my probation officer said that some States don't accept State to State Probation transfers.. Does North Carolina? And if they do, do you think this would be possible if my PO was cooperative?
Hello there, Your probation officer needs to forward and interstate compact request to the state your want to move...
Blew a .09 in Minnesota. Never had ANY priors of any kind. 27 years old, married w/a kid. Any way of getting this DUI reduced ?
I was pulled over by the cop because he said I was driving to fast on a curve. The cop never said how fast I was going. I was drinking, only had 1 and a half drinks in an hour and a half time frame. At the station I blew a .09. I have never had any DUI before or anything criminal on my record. The cop even said he would put in a good word for me because I was so polite and nice. Under these circumstances is there any way to reduce the charges down to a careless driving ticket and/or prevent my license from being taken away from me for the next 90 days? Any flea bargins would you suggest I try to do? I live in a small town near the town listed, so just the humiliation of being named "the drunk driver" is already the worse thing to ever happen to me and I definitely learned my lesson.
We win DWI cases all the time. It's been my experience, though, that generally I don't know which cases I will...

On a 4th Degree Misdemeanor DWI is the officer suppose to shut of his flashing light when you are doing a field sobriety test?
Also are they suppose to show you what you blew on the site? Is there a rule on how long before they can administer the next intoxillizer test at the jail? Also there were 2 passengers in the car (They weren't charged w anything) however the officer never once followed me. He flipped on his Cherries 30ft before I pulled into my driveway. He made a lot of false reports on where I was driving and why he pulled me over also he has a passenger listed who was never even in the car or seen through the whole incident. Does having witness help me prove his report is inaccurate? Should my lawyer request the dash cam? i know for a fact he never followed me! The first time we saw headlights was after we pulled on to the gravel cullisac and had already drove 50yards.
There are several questions here, and I'll try to answer each of them: Flashing lights during sobriety test -...
Refused breathalyzer saying I didn't have enough time to talk to lawyer. Contestable? Conflict of interest with Public Def.?
Arrested for a 3rd DUI, on probation, released into DUI court. After failing the roadside sobriety test, I refused the roadside breathalyzer saying I wanted to talk to an attorney first. At the police station I was read my rights, asked, "what constitutes a reasonable amount of time" and was told by the officer they would let me know when it was close(never did). Called a lawyer who said they'd call back. Waited about 20 minutes then called another number. Talked to this half asleep attorney for about 15 minutes not realizing it was a phonebook for 150miles away. I asked to call another, was told no my time was up. I refused saying I wouldn't take it until I could consult another attorney. Is contesting worth a shot? Should I worry since my public def. works closely with DUI court team?
You are facing a criminal charge based on these facts, so I would say that yes it is worth contesting (as would be any...
