A joint investigation by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's office, Louisiana State Police and Natchitoches Fire District 9 has led to the arrest of a Natchitoches man for his alleged role in a house fire near Campti. Around 8:30 a.m. Monday, authorities were called to the 600 block of Cloud Crossing Road on reports of a house fire. Comment?

A U.S. Marshals-led task force has netted more than 180 arrests in the federal Western District of Louisiana. The arrests were a result of Operation Violence Reduction7, which lasted six weeks and was part of a federal violent crime reduction initiative that netted more than 7,100 arrests. Comment?

A Natchitoches man accused of raping a mentally impaired person will avoid life in prison, thanks to a plea deal that gets him 25 years without parole. Glenn Redman, 52, was a bus driver for the Natchitoches Association of Retarded Citizens in February 2014 when he was arrested and charged with aggravated rape, cruelty to the infirm and false imprisonment after allegedly having sex with an NARC client.
