  Gang activity has become pervasive in many South Georgia towns. In Tifton there have been recent arrests involving criminal street gang activity; and earlier this year, a Tift County high School student, claiming that he was a member of the street gang "Bloods," was arrested for carrying an unloaded gun to school.
