May 21st, 2015 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Bellmore man at 5:15am on Thursday, May 21, 2015 for a Grand Larceny that occurred in Merrick. According to Crimes Against Property Squad Detectives, defendant Zafar Furhad, 44, of Pettit Place Bellmore between April 1 and April 9, 2015 deposited three fraudulent checks into his account at the Capital One Bank located at 2129 Merrick Road Merrick . A romance between a 38-year-old auto-body repairman and a 17-year-old high school senior led Long Island cops to arrest the teen yesterday on a charge of attempted murder in the shooting of her lover's wife. A North Merrick man who lives across the street from Old Mill Road Elementary School was arrested Wednesday for performing sexual acts in front of children via a webcam on a chat site and recording his exploits, according to Nassau County Police. Between October and December 2013, Nicholas Caruso, 21, pretended to be a 15-year-old boy and communicated online with an 11-year-old girl in Arizona, cops said. Comment?
