Nassau County Police have arrested a Seaford man who was driving with a suspended license when he struck and killed a student walking to school in Valley Stream early Thursday morning. The accident occurred at the intersection of West Merrick Road and North Franklin Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. on Dec. 11. The 12-year-old, who was only identified as a seventh-grader at Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School, was pronounced dead less than an hour later at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Comment?

December 2nd 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the details of a Robbery which occurred on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 11:30 P.M. in Valley Stream . According to detectives, a male victim, 21, working at Papa John's located at 583 W. Merrick Road was approached by a male black, 6' to 6' 1" tall with long black dreadlocks wearing a black hooded shirt, black nylon jacket, black mask, dark sunglasses, light blue jeans and tan work boots. Nassau County Police are searching for using a man's stolen credit card minutes after beating and robbing him on a Freeport street. At 11:30 p.m. Oct. 1, a 23-year-old man was walking near 126 Church Street in Freeport when he was approached by two men, cops said. Comment?

Orlando Ortiz drew a silver revolver from his waistband and shot into a car that fellow restaurant patron Richard Baccus was in after the two argued, the Valley Stream eatery's manager testified Tuesday. "He went to Richie's car and that's when I heard the three shots," Elvis Hernandez, 33, the manager of Ay! Caramba, told jurors at Ortiz's murder trial in Mineola. Comment?
